Curious about HTML? But wait, before that do you even
know the actual meaning of the terms Programming and Web development. If not,
this blog will surely help in brushing your concepts from the basics.
Programming is generally a process of creating a set of instructions that tells
a computer how to perform a particular task. These instructions are given with
the help of languages called "programming languages" for example C,
C++, java, python, etc. So, simplifying programming is the key to interaction
between humans and computers. Web Development on the other hand refers to creating
and maintaining websites. It is coined from two words "Web" meaning
web pages or websites and "Development" meaning building it from
scratch. It can be divided into two types, Frontend Development & Backend
Development. People who deal with the building of websites are called Web
developers. Learning HTML, CSS & JavaScript is the first step to mastering
the field of Web development. HTML which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language is a
Markup language that is used to create the structure of the website. It acts as
a skeleton of the website i.e., it assigns places to all the building elements
of a website like pages, buttons, images, icons, etc. These elements are made
using tags in HTML. To your surprise, there are 142 tags in total according to
Mozilla Developing Network. Some of the very basic and most used HTML tags are
<html>, <head>, <title>, <body>.
So exactly how a human skeleton gives the desired shape
to a body similarly HTML gives desired structure to a website. So, what are you
waiting for if you want to learn web development start with HTML today.
